Assignment #23 Wrapped Object


I thought that wrapping my hand would be an interesting idea. At first I had a hard time deciding what to use to wrap. I knew that paper wouldn't really work, so I decided to stick to something smaller and easier to use to wrap such a weird shape. A wrapped object doesn't always mean that it's wrapped with paper or is a present. Any material can be used to wrap anything.

    While I agree with you in theory, the image you've posted doesn't feel like a finished image to me. Thinking about what you researched on Christo and Jeanne Claude, what connection can you make to the concepts they began with? The object as art can certainly be a story but I'm more confused by this piece and not really seeing it as a solution that works with the prompt. Thoughts?

My version of polar opposites is new and old. I used my grandma's and my brother's hand. They are both holding something to represent a very important aspect of their lives. History of Photography video (Photo II)

Two different types of photography processes were the daguerreotype and the photogenic drawing. The daguerreotype was created by Louis Daguerre and saw the money making potential in creating images. He sold his process to the French and was given a pension. The daguerreotype used a silver plate to print the picture on and was one of a kind. The photogenic drawing was created by William Henry Fox Talbot. The photogenic drawing used paper and could be reproduced using the negative. A negative was produced which could then be used to create a positive. Both of these processes to create images were great inventions in the field of photography
