David Griffin's Ted Talk on How Photography Connects Us discussed the idea that photographs have a powerful impact on the photographer and the audience viewing the image. Photos tell a story and connect us to people, places and things that unfamiliar and different to what we know. A photographer can do more than just capture an image. They can express feeling and tell a story. In the talk, Griffin tells anecdotes of different photo expeditions his colleagues went on in which they do more than travel to a place for a picture. They experience a new culture or community in which they learn their way of life and difficulties they endure. I really enjoyed watching David Griffin's Ted Talk. I have always enjoyed National Geographic's images and now I know the background of a few of their iconic images. I also enjoyed how he showed good, interesting images throughout.
