Assignment #24 David Griffin Ted Talk

David Griffin's Ted Talk on How Photography Connects Us discussed the idea that photographs have a powerful impact on the photographer and the audience viewing the image. Photos tell a story and connect us to people, places and things that unfamiliar and different to what we know. A photographer can do more than just capture an image. They can express feeling and tell a story. In the talk, Griffin tells anecdotes of different photo expeditions his colleagues went on in which they do more than travel to a place for a picture. They experience a new culture or community in which they learn their way of life and difficulties they endure.

I really enjoyed watching David Griffin's Ted Talk. I have always enjoyed National Geographic's images and now I know the background of a few of their iconic images. I also enjoyed how he showed good, interesting images throughout. A story can only have so much of an impact when told just verbally. These photographers lived through powerful stories and have even more powerful image to go with it.

David did a good job on his talk. He chose really good images to help captivate the audience and draw them into the stories more. His positive demeanor made the video more interesting. He is a very good public speaker and developed a very intriguing presentation.
